TE Tube Socket Bore Diameter:

Brand:  CarbonAero

A brand new design from CARBONaero - this triple probe is designed as a direct replacement for probes fitting the common UN socket. This probe senses static, pitot and TE.

Manufactured from carbon fibre tube, this probe is lighter and stiffer than the competition. Painted nylon sensing sections further reduce weight and make for a snag free probe that is less susceptible to damage.

It is nominally 0.75m in length, so taking it's TE pressure measurement further away from the influences of the fin and tailplane of the glider and further away from the wake from the wings than most standard sized TE probes.

Also built with a fluorescent tip to help prevent you or onlookers from walking into your probe!

Knowing accurately what the air is doing around your glider is one of the keys to successful soaring and cross country. This informtion can only be provided truly accurately by a properly compensated total energy probe, and a leak free setup. This revolutionary new style of total energy probe has been years in design and development by CARBONaero. It changes the traditional style of vortex-shed sensing to a swept body pressure field design. This new design features very low drag but smooth and consistent TE readings at much higher yaw and pitch values than traditional style TE probes. The unique shape (a registered European design) is lower drag than a T-style probe, despite its looks, and is the key to delivering accurate pressure even when the glider is in turbulent air. Unlike other TE tubes, this design is not affected by excesive yaw, pitch or G loading.

Specification:

  • Length nominal 0.75m, 1.00m available in some probes
  • Probe sensing head diameter 20mm
  • Material Woven Carbon tube, Nylon sensing heads, carbon/nylon/316 plug
  • Weight 40g - 100g depending on variant
  • Smooth TE pressure delivery at yaw angles of up to 30 degrees
  • 1 year warranty

Please note - Shipping options will be ‘UK MyHermes’ for long objects for £4.50 or UPS. The MyHermes method is only available if the TE Probe is purchased on its own & will not be available if you have additional items in your basket.
