Excellent quality and great service as usual. Many thanks.
Very easy to use web site and very prompt delivery Jake!
Thank you.
After a recent issue, in releasing from the tug, I was advised to upgrade the type of release handle, from a loop, to the `toggle` type handle... As I always default to Navboys, for my gliding products, it was a simple case of searching the site, and finding the T-Release handle advertised. A quick online order, and the handle / release, along with associated Form 1, was promptly dispatched, and received in quick time..
It is a well made robust ABS handle, and easily installed to replace the former looped release handle. This version offers a very strong grip, and pull function, and fits very well in the hand.
Usual excellent service from Navboys. Delivered quickly and within the timescale indicated (2-3 days).
I have been working on extending my flight time and after quickly dismissing absorbent pads I sourced some sheaths from Amazon. These were the type which use an elastic strap to keep the device in place. I found the lack of detailed instructions made assembly a bit hit and miss. After a few misses I thought I had it sussed out and set out to try the system for real. NEAR DISASTER. It popped off just as I was getting ready to take off!!
Then I was looking at the Navboys website for software updates and noticed their In-flight Plumbing page! I like what I have previously bought from them so thought it was worth a look. Too right! Their sheaths are the same price as the Amazon ones but are SELF ADHESIVE. This could solve my problems. Their webpage includes useful instructions for application which was a bonus. First time was not quite right but it survived a few hours of normal activity - MAJOR IMPROVEMENT! I learned from the first attempt and a second application was COMPLETELY SUCCESSFUL. It was fine for over 18 hours (including overnight) - the instructions say you can wear one for three days!
Flight test next!!!
The blanking plate has the word Carbonaero molded into the front face. I thought the picture of it showed it with the manufacturer's watermark on it. This limits the space I have available to install my intended sockets and switches. I'll probably just make a blank out of carbon sheet.
The screen display is very clear and the touch screen works well. Battery life seems to be very good and the operating system fairly straight forward. Had it less than a week and flown with it once. Still lots to learn and need to get it integrated with flarm etc. Very positive so far.
This is the second time I have ordererd these discs and they are a very neat way of covering the water bung on top of the wings(Shempp Hirth) and leave a smoother profile than wing tape. I also recieved some smaller disks which are useful to cover the small holes cut in the fuselage near the undercarriage and inspecion holes under the wing during the annual checks. Not quite sure what I can do with the very large discs though but fortunately theere were only two of them
Just fitted it to a Ventus and it was a challenge. Managed to shear three of the 6 bolts when trying to pull the halves of the hub together. I had some longer bolts to get the job started which were fine but getting the two halves of the hub tight proved impossible, as evidenced by three sheared bolts! This meant that the axle spacers would not fit until they were thinned down. I haven't flown with it yet but hopefully it will be satisfactory and eliminate any flat tyres in future
As the title says it was simple to activate but expensive. The only criticism of the operation is the model has anhedral rather than parallel wings like most gyro instruments. Most gliders have parallel wings or dihedral!
